Frequently Asked Questions

can i Use my own headphones?

Unfortunately not, we use silent disco style technology and transmitters so your own headphones cannot connect to our system. If you are concerned about headphone sanitization email mallory@phoenixtearsproductions.com and we can see if we can make different accommodations.
For those of you who haven’t seen our shows since 2019, we have UPGRADED once again to new, higher quality, and just all around better tech! We are so excited for y’all to experience it.

What is an Immersive audio drama? What kind of Haunt is this? Is this like other Central Florida haunts?

Immersive Audio Drama (noun): a 360 soundscape and prerecorded story that is performed by actors using pantomime in front of a live audience while walking through physical space. Similar to a podcast (but with live actors) or podplay.
The horror aspects include audio and physical jump-scares. There are a few practical effects like fake blood and monster makeup.
This event is more akin to the experimental theater we have been at the forefront of since 2016 when we produced our first immersive audio drama at Orlando Fringe.

How much is the show?

Tickets to the event are $20 and include your admission to one of the two audio dramas. If you want to see both audio haunts you can purchase both shows for the same night for $40. Admission to Santa’s Farm is included either way for no additional fee. There is an early bird discount through August 31st. You can buy tickets here.

Why are there two tickets?

We are premiering two new audio haunts this year Camp Alkeridge and Resurrection. While these shows are both happening at the event Horror in Headphones they are different shows with different casts and storylines. We wanted to give patrons the option to experience either or both shows in one visit to the event or to attend more than once and have new experiences each time. You can think of it as two shows at a very niche theater festival. Whether you see one or both shows while you visit, your ticket will give you access to the Santa’s Farm property, attractions, food service, and live music during event hours.

What are event hours?

Santa’s Farm will be open from 7PM to 10PM every Saturday of the event with show times for both Camp Alkeridge and Resurrection throughout the evening. You will book a specific showtime when you purchase tickets but can come and hang out at the event before and/or after that showtime. Book your times 45 minutes apart if you are seeing multiple shows in one night.

Where is your attraction, inside a building or is it outside?

Outside at Santa’s Farm in Eustis, FL. To check out Santa’s Farm click here.

What are the cleaning standards and COVID Safety you are implementing throughout the attraction?

  • Headphones and flashlights will be set down by audience members and then extensively cleaned by a staff member

  • Staff will be required to sanitize between groups

  • Performers will be temperature checked and masked

  • Hand sanitizer and hand washing stations are available around the farm

Will I be able to get out of the attraction if I find it too frightening?

Most of the scares in this haunt are audio based so you can simply take off the headphones. Most of the show is also outside in open air and you could step away if you felt overwhelmed.

Can I resell my tickets or get a refund?

We do not condone the reselling of an entire slot or the upselling of tickets to our event. If you have purchased a ticket through any means other than the Santa’s Farm website, Phoenix Tears Productions is in no way responsible for your ticket.
Refunds will be handled on a case by case basis. If you have purchased a slot and would like a refund please email mallory@phoenixtearsproductions.com

If you purchased tickets prior to October 9th 2021 you should have received an email from Santa’s Farm about prices and Friday cancellations. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope we will still see you at the event.

Are the actors and tech crew paid or is it all volunteer?

Phoenix Tears Productions strives to pay all performers and technicians involved with every production. Everyone involved with Horror in Headphones was briefed on pay structure and kept up to date on all details before accepting their roles. Most of the money from ticket sales goes to our cast/crew not to Phoenix Tears as a company. Phoenix Tears Productions is not responsible for Santa’s Farm staff members pay.
